Steubenville holds Indian Creek to three hits in 3-1 win

MINGO JUNCTION — Bubby Reese fired a complete game three-hitter as Steubenville defeated Indian Creek, 3-1, in high school baseball action Friday.

Mathew Fabbro had three singles and drove in a run, while Brody Saccoccia singled twice and knocked in a run. Cal Beadling also singled in a run.

Sy Barcalow had a pair of singles and drove in the lone Redskins run.

Shadyside 0

SHADYSIDE — Dylan Blon and Keegan Martin combined on the shut out as the Shamrocks kept their impressive season going at Fleming Field. They scattered three singles.

Blon fanned four and walked three before giving way to Martin with one out in the seventh.

Duker Castello singled twice to plate a pair of runs for Barnesville. Marshall Meade and Jaxon Wiley had RBI singles.

HANNIBAL — The Panthers scored twice in the top of the sixth to snap a 3-all deadlock and pick up the road win over the Pilots.

Mason Griffin had a two-run single and Alex McDiffitt drove in two with a pair of singles. Kaleb Stang had two base hits and Skyler Ebright singled in a run.

Wheeling Park 0

MORGANTOWN — The Patriots could only muster singles by Jared Marsh and Ryland Robb in their loss to the Blue Gaels, who scored three runs in the top of the second and recorded 10 hits — all singles.

Jefferson County Christian 8, Hundred 6

​HUNDRED — Robbie Henderson homered, Ben Adams went 3-4 with a double, and Noah Kostelny had a double and single for the Royals against the Hornets on Friday.

Wyatt Hervey pitched into the fourth and Ben Adams closed out the win, fanning six.

Greenbrier East 6, Wheeling Central 5

WHEELING — The Maroon Knights scored four in the first, but it was the Spartans who had the last laugh, scoring all six of their runs in the sixth and seventh innings in a road win.

Braxton Billick tallied two hits and an RBI for Central, while Seth Cover, Koy Lipinski, Brayden Cover and Kade Koroneos also drove in runs.

Steven Brodegard garnered the start for Wheeling Central and struck out nine over five innings, allowing two hits and no runs.

Zion Detko had four hits, including a triple, and drove in four runs for the Spartans.

BEALLSVILLE — Lauren Miller had a two-run homer as the Jets picked up a road win over the Blue Devils. Myah Martin also homered while Laken Vinskovich had three singles and an RBI. Kylie Stidd earned the win inside the circle with six strikeouts, two walks and four hits allowed.

Bellaire 7

ST. JOE — The visiting Seminoles pushed two runs across in the top of the ninth and held the Big Reds to one in the bottom of the inning for the win.

Maclarin Craft drove in three runs for Monroe Central with two singles and a double. Kazziah Cecil singled three times. Shyann Baker and Karlie Haslam evenly split four singles and four RBI.

Majestique Jackson singled twice and tripled for an RBI to lead Bellaire. Allie Ault singled, doubled and drove in a run. Sidney Rowson had two singles.

BARNESVILLE — The Shamrocks bested the Red Devils in five innings twice Friday, getting standout performances across their roster.

In the first game, Madelynn Tyson recorded three hits and three RBI, while Kylie Powell had two hits and three RBI and Chaela Smolira smacked a two-run triple. Ella Betts pitched all five innings, allowing only three hits.

In the second game, Payton Dudzik drove in three runs, and Barnesville capitalized on five St. Clairsville errors. Peyton Loudin pitched the opening inning before Abigail Johnson finished the game out in relief.

CONNORVILLE — Stang hurled a complete game two-hitter with 11 strikeouts as the Panthers rolled by the visiting Seminoles in six innings. He also singled twice and drove in a run.

Ebright singled three times and drove in two runs while Gavyn Romanyak and Brady Kalman each singled in runs.

Bellaire 23,

St. Clairsville 13

ST. JOE — The Big Reds outscored the visiting Red Devil in a five-inning affair on the Bellaire Middle School diamond. The teams combined for 25 hits and 14 errors, with the hosts committing 10 of those.

Addison Kovach continued her impressive season with two doubles, a home run and five RBI to lead Bellaire’s 17-hit attack. Aubriel Dodds drove in three runs with two singles.

Majestique Jackson doubled, homered and plated a pair of runs. Avery Shaver also had a pair of ribbies with a single and double.

Rachel Finnical knocked in three runs for St. Clairsville with a single and a home run. Anna Kain had a two-run double, while Lilly Price singled twice and doubled.

Shadyside 11,

Buckeye Trail 1

SHADYSIDE — Taylor Fulton singled twice and doubled to drive in four runs as the Tigers routed the visiting Warriors.

Josie Greenwood belted a single and home run for a pair of RBI. Macy Hendershot and Abby Gorrell each singled twice and doubled, with Gorrell chasing home to runs. Winning pitcher Arianna Saxton had a two-run single and fanned seven while scattering five singles.
