St. Clairsville Post 159 defeats New Philadelphia
ST CLAIRSVILLE –Both St. Clairsville and New Philadelphia came out of the gates firing Tuesday, but only St. Clairsville kept up the barrage the rest of the way, Post 159 defeating New Philadelphia 15-5 in six innings.
New Philadelphia scored four in the top of the first, but St. Clairsville Post 159 answered with five in the bottom half. New Philadelphia only added one more the rest of the way, while Post 159 scored 10 more runs, including six in the bottom of the sixth to trigger an early ending to the game.
Ayden Manning pitched the complete game, striking out 11 to earn the win.
Peyton Blue drove in three, a game-high, while Sylus Hyde and Brody Saunders each had two RBI.
Hyde, Blue and M Castro notched doubles.
Saunders had three hits, and St. Clairsville had 15 in total.
St. Clairsville is back in action Wednesday when they will travel to face Wheeling Post 1.
