CADIZ — Martins Ferry defeated host Harrison Central and Indian Creek Thursday in high school golf action at the Cadiz Country Club.

The Purple Riders shot 179 to the Huskies 194 and the Redskins 211.

Martins Ferry’s Hunter Shutler and Harrison Central’s Nash Roberts shared medalist honors with 42. The Purple Riders’ Nolan Zamori was one shot back. Stan Amis led the Redskins with a 50.

Big Red, Bruins Compete At Highland Springs

WELLSBURG — Morgantown came out on top in a triple threat matchup Thursday against Steubenville and Brooke, Big Red coming in second as a team while Brooke came in third.

Morgantown shot 294 as a team, Steubenville shot 323, and Brooke shot 397 on the par-72 course.

Morgantown’s Andrew Sheets was medalist with a 70. Steubenville was led by Christopher Elliott who shot a 71, and Brooke was paced by Parker McMahon with a 95.
