Jets fly over Cambridge in Thursday volleyball action
MORRISTOWN — Union Local remained unbeaten in high school volleyball action Thursday night with a sweep of visiting Cambridge inside ‘The Hangar.’ The Jets prevailed by scores of 25-5, 25-11 and 25-13.
Emma Yager led the winners with eight digs, five kills and four aces. Delaney Butler added 10 assists and seven digs, while Alayna Logan finished with nine assists and half-a-dozen digs. Ameera Saunders charted eight kills and Brooklyn Burley had eight digs. Laken Vinskovich blocked four shots.
Tigers Fall To
Shenandoah
SHADYSIDE — The Tigers lost to the visiting Zeps on Thursday, swept 25-19, 25-15, 25-16.
Shadyside got a strong performance from Ali Weatherson, who led the team in kills with seven, assists with 14, and digs with 14.
Josey Greenwood finished with six kills and seven digs, while Aubrey Nippert had five kills and six digs. Weatherson, Nippert and Ella Mercer each scored an ace.
Magnolia Sweeps Wood County Christian
WILLIAMSTOWN — The Blue Eagles (4-1) won by scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-17.
Sidney Knight led the way with 10 points and 25 assists, while Mallory McDiffitt added 16 points, six aces, five kills and a like number of digs. Jessa Anderson had eight points, nine kills and nine digs.

Cole Bowers scored four goals and added an assist as Big Red rolled past the Golden Bears.
Hayden Hicks, Brady Dinovo, Luke Dinovo, Daniel Aguilera, Landon Bowers and Tad Loot also found the net for Steubenville. Hicks and James Devereaux each had a pair of assists, while Landon Bowers, Loot, Drew Stimpert and Nate Chipps also recorded helpers.
Robby Lucas had two saves for Big Red. Oak Glen’s Richie Gudino had nine.
