Steubenville Big Red boys soccer team rolls pass John Marshall

MOUNDSVILLE — Cole Bowers scored four goals as the Big Red (5-0-3) blanked the host Monarchs inside Monarch Stadium on Saturday.

Hayden Hicks, Brady Dinovo, Landon Bowers, Luke DInovo, Daniel Aguilera and Ethan Llewellyn also scored goals.

Brady Dinovo had a trio of assists, while Hicks and Landon Bowers had two helpers each. James Devereaux, Luke Dinovo and Daniel Aguilera also charted assists.

Tripp Bonds had eight saves for John Marshall.

Steubenville plays at Wheeling Park on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Linkan Marler scored a pair of goals and four other Maroon Knights found the net. Maddox Ochap, Mason Schmitt, Luke Magruder and JD Schoolcraft had goals.

Mason Smith helped on two goals. Magruder, Matt Criniti, Grady Mullin and Ryan Blair also charted assists.

Santino Sperlazza stopped four shots.

Bellaire 41, Brownsville, Pa. 0

BELLAIRE — The Big Reds improved to 3-1 with their blanking of the visiting Falcons at Nelson Field.

Bradyn Beckett ran for 122 yards and a touchdown, while Alex Padgett, Raekwon Pettigrew and Maurice Webb also had scoring runs. Michael Dipple threw a TD pass to Pettigrew.

Bellaire had 367 yards of total offense, while holding Brownsville to 53, including minus-12 on the ground.

Scott Balsei kicked five PATs.

Bellaire travels to Cambridge on Friday.

BOYS GOLF

St. Clairsville Wins OVGL

MOUNDSVILLE — The Red Devils bounced back from a disappointing showing at the Kiely Cup by shooting a four-man total of 293, which was 32 shots ahead of second-place Barnesville. Monroe Central was third, Martins Ferry fourth and rounding out the top five was Union Local.

St. Clairsville’s Evan Fix shot a 70 to earn medalist honors. Brodi Foster and Mavrik Malin each carded 74s, while Andrew Abel shot 75.

The Shamrocks’ Hayden Treadway carded a 72 and Martins Ferry’s Nolan Zambori 77.

On the girls side, St. Clairsville had a team score of 408. River shot 486.

Olivia Baker earned medalist honors for the Red Devils with a 74. Alaina Schumacher had 99, Sidney Wallace 114 and Hailey Swierkos 121.

Presley Kilburn led the Pilots with 112.
