John Marshall claims home victory over North Marion

GLEN DALE — Kayden Knapp homered twice to lead the John Marshall Monarchs to a home victory over visiting North Marion, 3-1.

North Marion got on the board first in the top of the fourth inning, but Knapp nailed the first of his two homers to put John Marshall ahead 2-1 at inning’s end.

Knapp lifted another home run in the sixth inning, of the solo variety.

Cain Martin had two hits for John Marshall.

Hunter Coulter spun a complete game for the Monarchs, striking out three and earning the win.

River 12, Beallsville 3

HANNIBAL — The Pilots used a team effort to take down the Blue Devils on Friday, using seven different pitchers and 13 different position players in the win.

Kaden Hunt and Lucas Dennis each doubled for River and had three hits in total. Dennis drove in two, Hunt four.

Peyton Blue drove in two, as did Cody Simon.

Dennis pitched three innings for River and struck out seven.

BASEBALL

St. Clairsville 5, Barnesville 3

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Brody Saunders, Jaxon Starks and Roby Hanna all had run-scoring singles as the Red Devils downed the visiting Shamrocks on the Unified Bank Field at the Junior Sports Complex.

Caiden Bailey singled and doubled for St. Clairsville. Colten Florence fanned four in relief to earn the win.

Parker Sobutka singled twice and drove in three runs for Barnesville.
