WHEELING — Jack Selmon had a big day for Wheeling Post 1 on Wednesday, popping two home runs and driving in six during Wheeling’s 15-6 victory over St. Clairsville Post 159.

Billy Schumacher launched a solo homer for St. Clairsville, while Eli Smith tallied two hits, one a double, and three RBI for Post 159.

Selmon, Henry Anderson, Zade Billings, Brady Ernest and Jake Brown each had multi-hit games for Post 1. Ernest homered, and Brown notched two doubles. Billings and Ernest each had two RBI.

Ryland Robb was Wheeling’s winner on the mound, pitching into the sixth.

St. Clairsville struck first in the top of the first after an Eli Smith RBI double, but Wheeling scored five runs in the bottom half to take a permanent lead. Selmon’s grand slam to left field punctuated the inning.
