CADIZ – The first round of the Buckeye 8 Golf Tournament was held Monday under hot and sunny conditions at Cadiz Country Club. Beaver Local holds the first round lead with a four-man total of 314. St. Clairsville, the four-time defending champion, sits in second place one shot back at 315. The individual race looks to be a good one with 10 players within 10 shots of the lead currently held by Barnesville’s Brady Gallagher, who shot a two-under-par 70. The tournament will conclude with the second round at Belmont Hills Country Club on August 26. After the second round, the top six golfers will be named first team and the next six placers will be named honorable mention Buckeye 8 along with the crowning of the overall team champion.
