Bellaire native Jeremiah Blackmore joins Thiel College as Assistant Track & Field, Cross Country Coach

Bellaire, OH — Local standout and Kent State University graduate Jeremiah Blackmore has accepted a position as Assistant Track & Field and Cross Country Coach at Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania. Thiel is a member of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) and competes at the NCAA Division III level.

Blackmore, a 2025 graduate of Kent State, was a two-year letterman for the Golden Flashes Track & Field program and earned Academic All-MAC honors during his collegiate career. He competed in both the high jump and long jump, bringing athleticism, technical knowledge, and leadership to the team.

In addition to his success as an athlete, Blackmore also served as a coaching intern with the Kent State Track & Field program, where he worked closely with the coaching staff to assist with event-specific training, meet preparation, and athlete support. This hands-on experience helped prepare him for a seamless transition into the college coaching ranks.

At Thiel, Blackmore’s coaching specialty will be in the jumps, where he will apply his experience and technical expertise to develop student-athletes in horizontal events. He will also support cross country and the overall development of the program.

Before his time at Kent State, Blackmore had a standout high school career at Wheeling Central Catholic, where he earned four varsity letters, was an OVAC Long Jump Champion, and a state placer in West Virginia.

“I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity,” Blackmore said. “Coaching has always been a passion of mine, and I’m excited to start my career at a program like Thiel, where I can grow as a coach and help student-athletes succeed both on and off the track.”
