Local teams play in The Circle K Invitational
ZANESVILLE — Multiple local teams traversed I-70 on Thursday to play in The Circle K Invitational, hosted at Eaglesticks Golf Club.
Wheeling Park, St. Clairsville and Wheeling Central participated, with Wheeling Park finishing fourth as a team, St. Clairsville eighth, and Wheeling Central 10th.
Wheeling Park compiled a team score of 307, with Andrew Pennybacker carding a 74, Will Koegler a 75, Seth Weidner a 77 and Owen Abraham an 81.
St. Clairsville’s squad finished with a 315, led by Mavrik Malin’s 73. Ryan Mooney shot an 80, Beau Mooney an 81, and Mason Conway another 81.
Wheeling Central’s top performer was Rowen Parker with a 76, followed by Isaac Tiu’s 79, Conner Ball’s 80 and Bode Burge’s 81, totalling a team score of 316.
The Patriots’ Pennybacker and Red Devils’ Malin made the cut for the All-Tournament team.

Martins Ferry Wins Tri Match
RAYLAND — Leo Zambori earned medalist honors with a 38 as the Purple Riders easily won a triangular match at Bec-Wood Golf Course. The Purple Riders carded a 160, which was 33 shots ahead of Monroe Central. Bridgeport had a 219.
Joby Henthorn’s 43 was the low score for the Seminoles. Caron Sauvageot led the Bulldogs with a 50.
