Martins Ferry wins quadrangular golf match

CAMBRIDGE — Martins Ferry won a quadrangular high school golf match Monday at the Cambridge Country Club.

The Purple Riders fired a four-man total of 162. Caldwell was second at 175, with River posting 217 and Bridgeport 222.

Martins Ferry’s Dylan Pielech was medalist with a 38. Teammates Hunter Shutler and Leo Zambori both carded a 41. Carson Sauvageot led the Bulldogs with a 47, one shot better than the Pilots’ Gage Bayes.

STEUBENVILLE — Big Red’s Chris Elliott shot 38 to lead his team’s score of 174.

Indian Creek was second at 185, with Buckeye Local shooting 194.

The Redskins’ Riley Guskey fired as 42. The Panthers’ duo of Kamden Kinyo and Dugan Dubrovich each shot 43.

Barnesville Finishes Third

WEST LAFAYETTE — The Shamrocks placed third in the Indian Valley Invitational at River Greens Golf Course with a score of 310. Riverview won the event with 289. Indian Valley Red was second at 297.

Barnesville’s Brady Gallagher shot a 71 for 18 holes, which was good enough for runnerup medalist honors. Riverview’s Gavin Gress shot 68.
