Young golfers show skills at Honeywell Invitational meet

MOUNDSVILLE — The 19th Annual Honeywell Junior Golf Invitational afforded young golfers, ages 10 to 18, a chance to compete on the greens at Moundsville Country Club on Monday, July 28.

There were eight different flights on the day- ages 10-12, 13-14, 15-16 and 17-18 for boys and girls on the 18-hole course.

First place in the boys’ 10-12 year-old flight was Chase Lyseski, who shot a 54, and second place went to Cameron Criswell with a 55.

First place in the boys’ 13-14 year-old flight was Zach Zende with a 74, and second place was Dylan Gallagher with a 75. In the girls’ 13-14 year-old flight, Calli O’Donnel finished first with a 92, and Greta Green finished in second with a 102.

Kianna Garrison finished first in the girls’ 15-16 year-old flight with an 82, and Abby Kingora finished second with a 100. In the boys’ 15-16 year-old flight, Drew Marling carded a 70 to take first place, and John Mace carded a 73 to take second place.

In the boys’ 17-18 year-old flight, Joseph Condon’s 71 was tops among the field for first place, and Brandt Blake tallied a 79 to take second place.

At the tournament, free range balls, box lunches, drinks and awards were made possible by a grant from the Honeywell Corp.
