Wheeling Park girls throttle John Marshall
GLEN DALE — Wheeling Park High School used two goals each from Molly Bradshaw, Corin McFarland and Jazlyn Mendez-Benson as the Lady Patriots rolled past John Marshall, 10-0, in girls’ high school soccer action on Thursday on the grass field behind the JMHS.
Wheeling Park improves to 9-0 on the season with the victory.
Bradshaw, a sophomore midfielder, added two assists.
Wheeling Park’s Julia Dunaway, a senior, added a goal and an assist in one half of play.
Other goals came from Aria Swartz, Brenna Tipton and Patience Fletcher.
Wheeling Park on Saturday hosts Buckhannon Upshur High School at Wheeling Island Stadium.

STEUBENVILLE — The visiting Beavers posted a huge OVAC road win at Harding Stadium.
Brayden Price scored twice for Beaver Local (6-2), while Austin Holmes added the other tally. Kaden Mays had the lone assist. Goalkeeper Cole Long made nine saves.
The Bowers brothers — Cole and Landon — each scored once for Big Red (4-2-1). Gabe Martin and Drew Stimpert added assists while goalkeeper JJ Lamantia had five saves.

Wheeling Central Sweeps Shadyside
WHEELING — The Maroon Knights defeated the Tigers in three sets Thursday, 25-22, 25-21, 25-16.
Giovanna Hines and Ella Mercer each had six kills for Shadyside. Aubrey Nippert and Addasyn Melanko each had five. Nippert added two service aces.
Ali Weatherson had all 18 of the Tigers’ assists.
Molly Boltz finished with 18 digs, a team-high for Shadyside, while Melanko had a dozen.
St. Clairsville Defeats Martins Ferry
MARTINS FERRY — The Red Devils (9-1) started a new winning streak and ended the Purple Riders’ winning streak inside Tolbert Gymnasium.
St. Clairsville won by scores of 22-25, 25-18, 27-25 and 25-17.
Giana Chirpas led Martins Ferry (8-3) with 28 kills and four blocks. Olivia Harkness charted 49 assists, while Maddie Lucas added 16 digs, eight kills and four service aces. SJ Koller finished with 29 digs and Nicole Hammerquist 12 kills and a pair of blocks.

HANNIBAL — The Pilots navigated past the visiting Cougars by scores of 25-21, 25-19 and 25-15 inside the R.E. Potts Memorial Gymnasium.
Maci Isaly charted 11 kills and eight assists, Hallie Hammel recorded nine kills, 12 digs and four service aces. Zoey Fox added 21 assists, three kills and a pair of aces.

Weir Captures Quadrangular
NEW CUMBERLAND — The Red Riders (17-5) ran away from the field with a four-player score of 144 at Mountaineer’s Woodview Golf Course. Brooke was second at 164, two shots better than Steubenville. Oak Glen finished at 174.
Weir’s Guy Meneely and Evan Kaczmarek were co-medalists with 33, along with Big Red’s Christopher Elliott..
The Bruins’ Parker McMahon and Colton Yensen each carded 37, while Zach Jenkins led the Golden Bears with a 37.

RAYLAND — Kamden Kinyo earned medalist honors with a 40 as the Panthers roared past the Bulldogs 176-202 at Bec-Wood Golf Course.
Carson Sauvageot was the low man for Bridgeport with a 45.
