Bridgeport Boys now 2-0; Park, JM Girls Both Fall
NEW PHILADELPHIA — Bridgeport jumped out to a 32-12 lead at the half Saturday in rolling past host Tuscarawas Catholic, 64-28, in boys’ high school basketball action.
Jaleel Vincent led three Bulldogs (2-0) in double figures with 20 points. Jaki Threet added 12 and Jameil McKeen added 11. Dontez White finished with nine and Coen Brinker seven.

Wheeling Park 43
WHEELING — The visiting Seminoles (4-2) continued their fine start with a 11-point win over the debuting Patriots inside the ‘Palace on the Hill’ at Wheeling Park High School.
Wheeling Park led 16-13 after one quarter but Monroe Central held a 28-26 edge at the half and was on top 36-33 heading into the final quarter where the visitors used an 18-10 advantage to pull away.
Mayzie Emery was the only twin figure scorer for Monroe Central with 14, but eight others scored at least two. Maci Isaly added nine while Allie McFrederick and Jadyn Miller had seven each.
Italy Schroeder paced the Patriots with 13, three more than Jalayiah Broomes had 10. Karringtyn Miller finished with eight.

John Marshall 70
LEWISBURG — The Monarchs fell in a shootout to the Spartans as the teams combined for 19 three-point field goals, including 12 by John Marshall.
Kalyn Reese paced John Marshall with 17 points, one more than Kaylee White who knocked down five triples. W.Va. Wesleyan signee Rilee Storm contributed 15 and Masyn Inclan 13. Nia Miller added eight.

Barnesville Wins At
Hebron Lakewood
HEBRON — The Shamrocks piled up 283.5 points in claiming the title at the Josh Taylor Memorial Invitational at Hebron Lakewood High School.
Winning individual titles were Hoyt Hartshorn (113), Jaxon Aberegg (120), Bentley Stephen (126) and Ryder King (138).
Columbus Bishop Watterson finished second with 264.5.
JM’s Johnson Is Perfect
MOUNDSVILLE — John Marshall went 4-2 Saturday during the Greg’s Market Invitational Dual Meet Tournament inside the John Marshall Fieldhouse.
Sophomore Kai Johnson led the Monarchs with a perfect 6-0 record. Junior JT Morris, sophomore Nathan Hughes and freshman Waylon Howard all boasted 5-1 records. Sophomores Clayton Dugas and Spencer South, and freshman Milo Ward all finished 4-2.
McGuffey, Pa. won the event with a 6-0. Seneca Valley, Pa. finished second at 5-1.

HANNIBAL — Evan Longwell netted 21 points in leading the Pilots past the Tigers in a mutual season opener.
Peyton Weese added 15 markers for River.
Wyatt Parr led Shadyside with 10. Trenton Marling added nine.
