John Marshall rolls by Weir in opener
WEIRTON — John Marshall made a successful debut in girls’ high school basketball action Wednesday night.
The Monarchs outscored host Weir 52-11 in the middle two quarters en route to a 79-27 thrashing of the Red Riders inside the Carl Hamill Field House.
West Virginia Wesleyan signee Rilee Storm led three John Marshall players in double figures with 22 points. She was backed by Nora Shock with 17 and Kalyn Reese with 15.
Storm and Kaylee White each grabbed nine rebounds.

WOODSFIELD — The Seminoles improved to 3-2 as Brylee McFrederick and Miley Bommer had nine points each in their win over the visiting Zeps. Bommer also pulled down six rebounds.
Mayzie Emery and Allie McFrederick evenly split 14 markers. Jacey English charted five rebounds, five steals and three assists.
