Scheurle, a junior, finished the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.78, finishing the prelims in 30th.
“Both Liv McCrate and Antoni Schuerle had a great season,” Barnesville head coach Danielle Anderson wrote to The Times Leader. “Their hard work paid off and they punched their ticket to the state meet. That is an amazing accomplishment in itself. They have goals for next year and we will be back stronger and faster.”
The pair’s performance at the state meet was a cherry on top of a season that saw the Barnesville boys win the OVAC 1A-3A championship, and the girls place as conference runners-up.
