BRIDGEPORT – The Bridgeport Exempted Village School District recently took time to recognize someone whose dedication has been invaluable to its athletic programs — someone who has quietly supported the basketball and football teams for years.
For nearly nine years, Carl Pomeranski has served as our official clock operator, after previously assisting Bob Weaver before taking over the role. In that time, Pomeranski has been incredibly reliable. He has rarely missed a game, and no matter how hectic scheduling becomes with cancellations or make-up games, he is always willing to be here for our athletes and coaches.
“This year, I had the privilege of nominating Carl at the East District 12 Meeting, and we are proud to share that — just this weekend — he was selected by representatives from over 55 schools to receive this year’s Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding time and dedication to Bridgeport Schools,” Bridgeport Athletic Director Brittany Hicks said.
