Photo by Kim North Buckeye Local’s Jenna Delvecchio has the fastest time in the 100-meter high hurdles (14.97 seconds) entering the OHSAA Jesse Owens State Track and Field Championships this week inside Jesse Owens Stadium on the campus of Ohio State University.

COLUMBUS – The qualifiers are set for this week’s Ohio High School Athletic Association Jesse Owens Track and Field State Championships, which begin Thursday afternoon at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of Ohio State University.

This year marks the 119th annual boys and 51st annual girls state tournament, and the first state tournament under the new five-division format.

Nearly 30 Ohio Valley individuals and eight relay teams are entered in the four-day event. Local participants are mostly in Division IV, with some sprinkled among Divisions II, III and IV.

The following is a list of qualifiers, with their events, times and qualifying positions.

Several locals have the top qualifying times and distances in their respective divisions and events. They include Buckeye Local’s Jenna Delvecchio in the Division IV 110 high hurdles with a time of 14.97 seconds; Bellaire’s Alyson Vingia with a heave of 142-feet, 9-inches in the Division V discus; Steubenville’s Bri Hudson with a toss of 148-8 in the D-II discus; and Steubenville’s Ziare Scurry with a clocking of 47.04 in the D-II 400 dash.
