Wheeling Post 1 Outlasts Moundsville Post 3
WHEELING — Post 1 scratched across runs in the fourth and fifth innings to break a 1-1 tie and claim victory over Post 3 on Wednesday, 3-1.
It was Tucker Doty and Erik Blazier who combined for a two-hitter, Doty pitching the first 3.1 innings and striking out three, while Blazier tossed the final 3.2 innings, holding Moundsville without a hit, walking none and striking out five to earn the win.
Aleks Zanieski, Reece Davis and Nolan Yanchak each drove in runs– Yanchak on a solo home run. Davis and Brody Groome each doubled, and Dom Fato tripled for Post 1.
Brody Thomas doubled and scored Moundsville’s lone run.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Wheeling did all their damage in the later innings to turn in a shutout win vs. St. Clairsville, plating a run in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Steven Brodegard pitched the complete-game shutout for Post 1, striking out 13 and allowing just two hits.
Braxton Billick and Nolan Yanchak each doubled for Post 1, Billick driving in two runs. Rhyder Dlesk tallied two hits and and RBI.
Only one of Wheeling’s runs were scored as earned. St. Clairsville was charged with two errors.
