By Staff Reports 1 min read

MARIETTA - One bad inning was all it took to send St. Clairsville Post 159 into the loser's bracket of the American Legion Baseball Region 4 Tournament Thursday night.

Post 159 allowed seven runs in the bottom of the fourth, erasing a 1-0 lead, to Cambridge/Belle Valley Post 84/641 during a 8-4 doubling up at Marietta College's Pioneer Park.

St. Clairsville was scheduled to play an elimination game at 7 Friday night against the Marietta-Beverly/Lowell winner. That winner punched its ticket to the Ohio State Tournament on July 24-27 at Beavers Field in Lancaster as the top two teams advanced.

Cambridge's Garrett Carpenter held the St. Clairsville bats to just six hits, two by Eligah Hill who collected a single and triple that produced a run. Ford Hughes added an RBI double and Max Miller singled in a run.
