BENWOOD - The Foundation Fight Series continues to grow under the direction of Josh Baker. Foundation Fight Series III: Expanding the Ledger is set for Saturday, Sept. 12 under the Benwood Industrial Park Pavilion.
"This will be our third event. The first two were boxing-only shows, and we had a full house for both," Baker said. "The response from the community has been great, and we've tried to improve the overall experience with each event.
"This event will be our biggest and most diverse event yet. We currently have 18 fights scheduled, featuring boxing, MMA and kickboxing, with a total of seven title fights," Baker added. "We have local fighters from throughout the Ohio Valley, along with competitors traveling from other parts of West Virginia and Ohio."
The first event was held inside Linsly's Stifel Fieldhouse. The second at Reilly's Reception and Events Center in Glen Dale.
"The venue is a covered pavilion at the Benwood Industrial Park, located at the former Wheeling Steel mill site. It's a large, open-air industrial setting that gives the event a completely different atmosphere from a traditional arena or reception hall," Baker continued. "The pavilion is fully roofed with a concrete floor, and we're building an arena-style layout around the ring with a dedicated fighter entrance. I think the setting will make the night feel unique and create a great atmosphere for both the fighters and fans."
The main event features reigning FFS middleweight champion Czar Parrish (8-4) of Morgantown defending his belt against Moundsville's Steven Carney (14-6).
In the co-main event, St. Clairsville's Duncan Pagano (17-10) will defend his FFS welterweight championship against Cameron's Ashton Hoge (5-1).
The card will also feature a battle between unbeaten fighters for the vacant FFS women's welterweight championship, as Powhatan Point's Rylee Knight (2-0) faces Huntington's Lindsay Pratt (2-0).
Zanesville's Stevie Allen (11-3) will defend his FFS light heavyweight championship against Sammy Davis (7-3) of Charleston,. The title fight will complete a trilogy between the two competitors, whose series is currently tied at one victory apiece.
Moundsville's undefeated Tyler Ball (9-0) will take on Beckley's Dalton Huffstetler (3-2) for the vacant FFS featherweight championship.
Unlike the first two Foundation Fight Series events, which featured boxing exclusively, Expanding the Ledger will include multiple combat-sports disciplines. The current lineup features two MMA bouts and two kickboxing matches in addition to a full slate of amateur boxing.
Other local fighters scheduled to compete include Wheeling's Corey Toth (10-5), Sam Karrasch (2-0), Abigail Gurney (0-1) and Bryce Miller, who will be making his debut. Bridgeport's Josh Flowers will make his amateur boxing debut, while Cameron will be represented by Connor Rogers (4-4) and debuting fighter Vance Moffo.
Beyond the fights, there will be a live DJ, local food vendors, beer and wine, professional photography and an official after-party at Undo's in Benwood. A live-stream pay-per-view will also be available for anyone unable to attend in person.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with fights beginning at 7.
Presale ticket information and additional event details are available through Black Ledger Promotions on Facebook and Instagram. Tickets will also be available at the door for $35.
