CADIZ - Martins Ferry pulled away from host Harrison Central with a 28-point second quarter Friday night at Wagner Field in rolling to a 49-0 whitewashing of the Huskies.
Walkquem Cox ran for three touchdowns and Colby Kropka hooked up with Javon Johnson and ran for another six points as the Purple Riders (5-0) remained perfect heading into next week's "meeting of the unbeatens" as Union Local visits the Purple Rider Stadium inside the Dave Bruney Football Complex.
Christian Shutler returned an interception 85 yards for a touchdown in the second half and Jakori Cox took another pick 72 yards to the house.
The victory was extra special for Martins Ferry head coach Justin Kropka who spent 12 seasons as the Huskies head coach.
John Marshall 35, Hedgesville 6
MOUNDSVILLE - Dalton Cooper, who missed last week's game with an ankle injury, looked 100 percent Friday night as he rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns on just 12 carries as the Monarchs (3-1) rolled past the visiting Eagle (0-4) at Monarch Stadium.
Landen Snyder caught six of Jacob Cisar's eight completions for 83 yards, including scoring strikes of five and 26.
John Marshall welcomes Parkersburg South to town next Friday.
Bellaire 42, Cambridge 21
CAMBRIDGE - Michael Dipple threw for four touchdowns as the Big Reds (3-2) doubled up the host Bobcats (0-5) at McFarland Stadium.
Dipple connected with Kole Gonglik on scoring strikes of 9, 29 and 31 yards, while also teaming with Alex Padgett from 83 yards.
Raekown Pettigrew returned a kickoff 84 yards for six points and Trevor Dowery ran 15 yards for another TD.
Freshman Gavin Hibbitts booted all six PATs.
Bellaire hosts Indian Creek next Friday at Nelson Field.
East Liverpool 41, St. Clairsville 21
EAST LIVERPOOL - The Red Devils (0-5) received a touchdown pass from Owen Williams to Owen Anderson but it wasn't enough against the Potters (3-2) at Patterson Field.
St. Clairsville hasn't started 0-5 since 2001 when they began 0-6.
Brody Clifford was 11 of 24 for 103 yards and Williams completed all three of his tosses for 44 yards.
Jackson Mercer had three receptions for 48 yards.
St. Clairsville hosts Wheeling Park next Friday at Red Devil Stadium.
Indian Valley 41, Steubenville 13
GNADENHUTTEN -- Indian Valley couldn't have started Friday night much worse.
The Braves fumbled the opening kickoff, immediately giving undefeated Steubenville an opportunity to grab control of the game.
Indian Valley's defense made sure it didn't happen.
The Braves forced a punt, responded with a 98-yard touchdown drive and never looked back, rolling to a 41-13 victory over Steubenville.

Wheeling Central 4, Marietta 1
EAST WHEELING - Loni Kusic scored two goals and assisted on a third as the Maroon Knights defeated the Tigers at the J.B. Chambers Recreational Park.
Wheeling Central won for the ninth straight match and improved to 12-1 while the Marietta fell to 9-1-1.
Elah Konkle and Elizabeth Steele each had a goal and an assist for Wheeling Central. Meredith Komorowski also had a helper.
Bella Fitzsimmons made six saves in net.
