High School Roundup: Jets And Bruins Play To Draw; Weir Continues Strong Season On The Links

WELLSBURG -- The Union Local Jets and Brooke Bruins played to a 2-2 tie on Tuesday in an early-season Buckeye 8 bout.

Brooke's two goals came from Jacob High and Giacomo Dall'omo. Dall'omo assisted on High's score. Union Local received goals from Izayha Hall and Anderson Kocher.

Bronson Pack had 10 saves in-goal for Brooke, while Union Local's Gavin Fowkes had 12 saves.

The Jets are now 2-2-1 on the season; Brooke is 1-3-2.

Weir Victorious Over Four Other Schools

NEW CUMBERLAND -- The Red Riders prevailed over Madonna, Steubenville, Oak Glen and Toronto on Tuesday at Woodview Golf Course.

Weir's 159 team total was the low-score against the Blue Dons (169), Big Red (172), Golden Bears (172) and Red Knights (185).

The Red Riders' Guy Meneely shot an even Par, carding a 36 to take home medalist honors for the day. Aiden Ferguson (39), Evan Baker (42) and Jonny Horstman (42) all contributed to Weir's team score.

Weir holds a 13-2 record.

Madonna was led by Justin Kaczmarek's 40. Zach Jenkins and Gannon Cline each carded a 41 to pace Oak Glen. Andrew Matzorkis totaled a 39, best on Steubenville's squad. Hand Bodnar led Toronto with a 44.
