MOUNDSVILLE -- St. Clairsville senior keeper Kiya Kyer hit an impressive milestone in the Red Devils girls soccer team's decisive 10-0 victory Tuesday over the John Marshall Monarchs, extending her program record to 30 shutouts in the dominant showing.
Before the game ended via mercy rule midway through the second half, Emma Gasber, Raegan Gaiser, Ashlynn Lednik and Felicity Morgan each scored a brace of goals, while Molly Schultz and Elizabeth Morgan also scored. Gasber and Schultz each tallied three assists.
Kyer had three saves in-goal.
Wheeling Central 8, Weir 1
WEIRTON - The Maroon Knights picked up win number 10 in 11 outings Tuesday evening by handling the host Red Riders.
Sophomore Elah Konkle and junior Elizabeth Steele each found the back of the net three times. Loni Kusic and Addie Jackson also scored.
Konkle and Kusic also posted two assists, while Steele, Jackson and Maddie Steele also each provided a helper.
Bella Fitzsimmons made five saves in net.
BOYS SOCCER
Wheeling Park 2, Steubenville 1
STEUBENVILLE – The Steubenville boys’ soccer team scored first against unbeaten Wheeling Park, however, the Patriots netted the final two goals to come away with the victory Tuesday = on Reno Saccoccia Field inside historic Harding Stadium.
Junior Jackson Smith contributed the lone goal for the boys from Jefferson County off of an assist by freshman Teddy Gorman.
JJ Lamantia had a busy night in goal as the sophomore goalie made 12 saves.
Wade Barbour delivered the first goal for the boys from Ohio County, while Isaac Welling tallied the second. Miles Rockey recorded an assist on Welling’s game-winning goal.
Jacob Robinson III recorded three saves in goal for the victors.
Wheeling Central 5, Trinity Christian 1
MORGANTOWN - The Maroon Knights went on the road and had little issue en route to their eighth win of the season.
Maddox Ochap paced Central with two goals, while Shaun Mikels, Cooper Crews and Dom Lawrence also tallied.
St. Clairsville 6, Cambridge 0
CAMBRIDGE -- The Red Devils pitched a road shutout Tuesday as Trevor Tuttle picked up a hat trick with three goals.
Lucas Causey scored two goals and James Parsons also put one in the back of the net. Causey had three assists, and Cameron Judge also had one assist.
VOLLEYBALL
Caldwell def. River
HANNIBAL -- The Pilots fell on the road Tuesday against hosting Caldwell in three sets, 25-22, 25-18, 25-19.
Leading the way at the net, much as they have all year, were River's Hallie Hammel (12 kills, 14 digs, five aces) and Mallarie Maddy (14 kills, 14 digs).
The Pilots' Gracen Reed and Karly Showalter split setting duties, Reed finishing with a dozen assists, Showalter one less. Showalter served up two aces as well. Aubrey Fetty did the dirty work on the floor with a team-high 24 digs.
