WHEELING - Wheeling Park and Morgantown battled to a 1-all draw Thursday night in boys' high school soccer action on the artificial pitch at Wheeling Island Stadium.
The Patriots goal came from Graham Loy, with the assist going to Aiden McCroskey.
Goalkeeper Jacob Robinson stopped three of four shots he faced.
Brooke 2, Weir 1
WELLSBURG – Brooke controlled the first half as the Bruins netted two goals against rival Weir. The Red Riders turned things around in the second half, however the Red-and-Black were only able to collect one goal enabling Brooke to hold for a 2-1 victory Thursday night on Paul “Bud” Billiard Field inside Brooke Memorial Stadium.
Senior Jacob High contributed a goal and an assist to lead the way offensively for the boys from Brooke County. Giacomo Dall’omo also tallied a goal, while Jaxson Johnson recorded an assist.
Bronson Pack made eight saves in goal for the victors.
Rowan Stevens recorded the lone goal for the Red Riders off of an assist by Drew Thomshack.
Carter Blue made four saves in goal for Weir.
Steubenville 4, Beaver Local 4
EAST LIVERPOOL - Big Red (5-1-1) and the Beavers (7-0-1) played to a 4-all draw in a battle of OVAC Class 5A leaders.
Landon Bowers finished with two goals for Steubenville, which also received tallies from Teddy Gorman and Joel Elliot.
Jackson Smith, Nate Chipps and Gabe Loot all had assists.
JJ Lamantia made severn saves.
Kaden Mays had two goals for Beaver Local. Deacon Brown and Lucas Price also found the net.
Big Red next plays Saturday at John Marshall at 11 a.m.
GIRLS SOCCER
Harrison Central 4, Magnolia 1
CADIZ - Senior Marley Zeroski scored her second hat trick of the season to lead the Huskies. Freshman Abigail assisted on all three of Zeroski's net-finders, and also found the net herself.
Emeri Sefsick and Amelia Puskarich also charted helpers.
Lilli Smith recorded two saves.
Oak Glen 6, East Liverpool 0
NEW MANCHESTER - Bailey Watts found the net three times and assisted on three other net-finders as the Golden Bears rolled against their cross-river rivals.
Camryn Richards was only called upon to make four saves in earning the shutout.
Kendall Krzys had a pair of goals and two helpers, while Angelina Polly added a goal and Amelia Kampmeyer an assist.
VOLLEYBALL
Wheeling Central def. Linsly, 3-0
WHEELING - The invading Maroon Knights won their fifth straight with a sweep of rival Linsly on Thursday evening by scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-14.
Central (10-4) was led on the stat sheet by Teagan Peters' eight kills. Morgan Miehle added seven and Remy Peters chipped in with six.
Chloe Groome had 12 digs, while Olivia Stephens added 11.

Steubenville 5, Cambridge 0
CAMBRIDGE - Landon Bowers scored four goals and JJ Lamantia made three saves at Big Red (5-1) blanked the Bobcats.
Joel Elliot recorded the other Steubenville tally, with Bowers adding one assist. Chase Beall had a pair of helpers, while Dom Pietro and Kason Stackhouse also charted assists.

Dunlap Leads Harrison Central
CADIZ - Freshman Reese Dunlap fired a 46 to earn medalist honors as the Huskies defeated Weir, 219-243, at the Cadiz Country Club.
