WINTERSVILLE - James Parsons and Lucas Causey formed quite the duo Tuesday night as St. Clairsville blanked homestanding Indian Creek 13-0 in boys' high school soccer action at Kettlewell Memorial Stadium.
Parsons scored seven goals which is a boys school record and ranks 20th in Ohio High School Athletic Association history, along with 26 other players with seven net-finders. Causey logged six assists which is also a program record and ranks 10th in OHSAA history with 10 others.
Trevor Tuttle added two goals and a trio of assists, while Dmitri Troyan had two goals and an assist and Ace Lednik contributed a goal and two helpers. Caden Blacker netted the final tally and Bryce Henry added an assist.
Wheeling Central 5, Steubenville Catholic 0
STEUBENVILLE — The Maroon Knights went on the road and had little trouble with the Crusaders, posting their fifth shutout of the season.
Five different Central players — JD Schoolcraft, Maddox Ochap, Luca Cipriani, Cooper Crews and Logan Schoolcraft — found the back of the net.
Recording assists for the Knights were Ochap (2), Luke Hevener (2) and Cade Taylor.
Senior Tino Sperlazza continued to be strong in net with the shutout.
The Knights are now 5-0-2.
Steubenville 5, Oak Glen 0
NEW MANCHESTER - Landon Bowers scored all five goals as Big Red (4-1) blanked the host Golden Bears.
JJ Lamantia made just three saves in recording the shutout. Assists went to Chase Beall, Dom Pietro and Cedric Peckens.
Jackson O’Rourke had 18 saves for Oak Glen.

Wheeling Park 7, Morgantown 0
MORGANTOWN -- Wheeling Park dominated play throughout Tuesday's matchup against the Mohigans, with four different Patriots scoring goals while Park's own goalkeeper, Ava Harris, faced zero shots in a shutout road win.
Junior midfielder Maggie Miller led the way with a hat trick for Wheeling Park. Junior midfielder Lakin Chambers added two goals, while fellow junior midfielders Molly Bradshaw and Aria Swartz each scored single goals.

Martins Ferry Tops Field
POWHATAN POINT -- Seven schools were out on the greens Tuesday at Clair Mar Golf Course, and it was the Martins Ferry Purple Riders who turned in the best day against a field that included Barnesville, Caldwell, Shadyside, River, Bridgeport, and a lone golfer from Magnolia.
Martins Ferry's 146 team total was the low-score of the six full teams, followed by Barnesville (150), Caldwell (160), Shadyside (164), River (185) and Bridgeport (189).
Barnesville's Blake Shugert was the day's medalist, carding a 34, one-under par across nine holes.
Martins Ferry's first-place finish was put together by Dylan Pielech (35), Connor Best (36), Hunter Shutler (37) and Eli Smith (38).
Harrison Central Nips Buckeye Local
RAYLAND - The Huskies' shot 171, which was one shot better than the Panthers at Bec-Wood Golf Course.
Buckeye Local's Dugan Dobrovich and Andy Hendershot each carded a 40, along with Harrison Central's Cash Meadows to tie for medalist honors.

St. Clairsville Sweeps Union Local
ST. CLAIRSVILLE - The Red Devils recorded a 25-8, 25-20 and 25-9 victory over the visiting Jets on John Jenkins Court.
Kaelynn Johnston had seven kills for Union Local. Jaime Bolon added five kills and two blocks. Edyn McGary added three kills.
Martins Ferry Finishes Strong vs. Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE -- The Purple Riders dropped the first set of their road game vs. the Bobcats but bounced back for a four-set victory Tuesday, 22-25, 25-13, 25-12, 25-19
Giana Chirpas led the Riders in kills with 24, also piling up two blocks, three aces and six digs.
Olivia Harkness kept Ferry's attack humming with 50 digs. She also served up seven aces.
SJ Koller finished with 19 digs for the visitors, while Maddie Lucas had 10 kills and 15 digs, Gracie Lucas had 13 digs and Nicole Hammerquist had 15 kills.
Caldwell Defeats Pilots
CALDWELL -- River fell in four sets on the road Tuesday, 25-21, 25-18, 22-25, 25-21 to Caldwell.
Mallaire Maddy had 19 kills and 14 digs while Hallie Hammel had 12 kills and 15 digs for River.
Assists were split Tuesday for the Pilots as Gracen Reed set up 16 assists and Karly Showalter had 11 assists.
Aubrey Fetty led the way defensively for River with 27 digs.
