NEW CUMBERLAND -- The Weir Red Riders golf team took home the Hancock County Cup on Monday in the 2nd Annual event at Woodview Golf Course.
Weir, Madonna and Oak Glen vied for the prize, and were also joined by Brooke for a 9-hole quad match.
Weir's 160 team total led all schools, though the four were closely bunched. Madonna finished in second as a team at 167, followed by Oak Glen with a 171 and Brooke with a 172.
Landon Donalds (38), Guy Meneely (40), Aiden Ferguson (40), and Jacob Sharrow (42) contributed to Weir's win.
Madonna's Evan Kaczmarek was match medalist, carding a 37.
Oak Glen was paced by Maddox Chaffin with a 39, and Brooke by Max Malinky with a 41.

Pilots Sweep Shamrocks
HANNIBAL -- Barnesville played River tight on the road Monday, but the Pilots were unwavering in coming out ahead in each of their three sets, 27-25, 25-17, 26-24.
Mallarie Maddy finished with 20 kills, two aces and 11 digs for River while Hallie Hammel had 18 kills, six aces and 16 digs.
Karly Showalter and Gracen Reed set up their teammates with 18 assists and 12 assists, respectively. Showalter also had seven digs.
