BRIDGEPORT - A hungry and experienced team will take the field for Bridgeport and head coach Zach Winland this spring.
Winland begins his fourth season as the Bulldogs skipper with a roster of 18 players and five of those were starters at some point last spring.
"We lost six seniors, so we have some shoes to fill, but we have hungry players who have seen the field in the past and are now looking to take advantage of new opportunities," Winland said. "We're excited about this season."
Returning lettermen are seniors Cirian Flanagan (SS/P), Aiden Tarr (OF/P), Sean White (OF/P), C.J. Fouty (Inf/P), Anthony Jaworski (catcher), juniors Asher Stockwell (OF) and Alex Moore (Inf./P).
On top of the veterans, many of whom will comprise the Bulldogs pitching rotation, Winland is also high on the newcomers.
"We have added some new, young players who are eager to fight for playing time," Winland stressed.
The balance of the roster includes: seniors Jacob Powell (OF), Frank Smith (OF), juniors Gary Widmor (1B/3B/P), sophomores Law Chambers (OF), Noah Strong (1B), freshmen Zach DiLoretta (2B), Lyrik Brown (2B), Kaleb McCamick (OF), Jerry Hannahs (OF), Daniel Goff (OF) and Logan Baker (Inf).
