WHEELING — Whether you’re looking for unique colors, shapes, sizes or designs, custom doors give a homeowner the chance to make his or her house one-of-a-kind.

Numerous shops and contractors across the Upper Ohio Valley offer custom doors, including Dennis Miller Doors and Windows in Sardis, Deluxe Doors in Martins Ferry and Wheeling Distribution Center.

“It’s the first thing they see when they enter your home, and the last thing they see when they leave,” Daniel Shay, business manager for Wheeling Distribution Center, said. “You can really make a strong and lasting impression with doors.”

Shay said spring is a particularly busy time for all home improvement work, which can include bathrooms, kitchens, patios, decks, swimming pools, etc. However, doors are one of the more popular applications, he said.

“You can have them painted just about any color,” he said. “It’s really up to you.”

The distribution center offers boneyard doors, decorative glass doors, fiberglass doors, French and sliding patio doors, and steel entry doors.

At Dennis Miller, the shop offers just about any type of door a customer could want, including garage doors and entry doors.

Deluxe Doors specializes in both residential and commercial garage and entry doors, along with many types of door-related products. The business performs new installations, repairs and renovations.

“It can really add something to your house, both in terms of monetary value for a resale, or just for something you and your family can be proud of,” Shay added.
