Drug suspect set for trial
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Belmont County Common Pleas Judge Frank Fregiato reviewed several cases during court Monday.
Donald Marquis Bell, 28, incarcerated with a last known address of 20201 Concord Drive, Euclid/Cleveland, Ohio, remains set for trial May 29.
Bell faces charges of possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in heroin and trafficking in marijuana. He was arrested Feb. 5 in Bridgeport as a result of a traffic stop.
Law enforcement reported Bell had been staying at a Bridgeport location, which was searched and allegedly yielded drug evidence.
Bell was on probation at the time for trafficking in drugs, a second-degree felony that occurred Sept. 3, 2014. Bell had appeared Monday before Belmont County Common Pleas Judge Frank Fregiato on a probationary review. In light of the new charges, Fregiato continued proceedings and set the matter for a first-stage revocation hearing on Feb. 25.
In other matters, Alexandria Cleressa Bates, 28, of 57285 New Castle Road, Jerusalem, admitted to violating her community controls. Her sentence was set for May 20. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered. She was originally convicted of two counts of trafficking in drugs, a felony of the fourth degree occurring March 28. 2018.
Raymond Louis Sulek, 76, of 37825 Harry’s Ridge Road, Barnesville, entered a plea of guilty to driving under the influence, a felony of the third degree occurring Sept. 16, 2018. A pre-sentence investigation and victim impact statement were ordered. Gurther arguments were set for May 16, with a sentencing hearing to be set afterward.
