The Utility MACT Rule that Sherrod Brown voted to uphold on Wednesday will devastate Ohio’s economy.
It will, according to the National Economic Research Associates, cost America up to 215,000 jobs. It will force coal plants to close. It will raise energy prices. Electric prices are predicted to increase over 300% in some parts of Ohio by 2016. The Utility MACT may even trigger job losses and price increases for railroads and manufacturers who rely on the coal industry.
This useless EPA regulation will be a detriment to everyone in Ohio who Senator Sherrod Brown was elected to represent. Josh Mandel is the clear choice when it comes to November’s election.
