Wheeling Fifth, West Liberty Tied For Seventh In Preseason Poll

WHEELING — The Mountain East Conference preseason poll was released Friday, with the start of the football season only a few weeks away. The Wheeling University football squad placed fifth on the preseason poll, while West Liberty was tied for seventh in the nine-team poll. MEC head coaches voted on the poll. Nailers Sign Kishaun Gervais

WHEELING – The Wheeling Nailers announced Friday their 10th player signing of the 2026 offseason. Wheeling has signed forward Kishaun Gervais to an ECHL contract. Gervais, 24, is entering his fourth professional season, having spent the majority of his first three years in the ECHL. Kishaun began his pro career by scoring six goals in four games for the SPHL's Birmingham Bulls, which quickly put him on the radar in the ECHL. He was signed by the Tulsa Oilers in November of 2023, and proceeded to amass 13 goals, nine assists, 22 points, and 76 penalty minutes in 52 games. One of the ...
