60th wedding anniversary

Chuck and Linda Schleicher of Martins Ferry celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Aug. 22. They were united in marriage at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Wheeling. Chuck is the son of the late Fred and Sarah (Beech) Schleicher of Valley Grove. Chuck is retired from Carpenters Local 3. Linda is the daughter of the late Harold “Dutch” and Martha Becker of Wheeling. They have one son, Chuck Jr., and his wife, Beth Schleicher. They have two grandchildren: Hannah (James) Green of Senecaville, Ohio, and Von Schleicher of Martins Ferry.

50th wedding anniversary

On September 1, 1973 George Bell and Janice Yandora were united in holy matrimony. This year they celebrate their 50th anniversary. They are the proud parents of two sons, Scott (Natalie) and Matthew (Katie). They have been blessed with three grandsons: Eli, Colin and Alex. George is a retired administrator, teacher and coach. Janice is a retired insurance agent and fiscal officer. Formerly of Yorkville, Ohio, they now make their home in The Villages, Florida. A family celebration will be held in November.

55th wedding anniversary

Ted and Annita McCort celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Thursday, July 13. They were united in marriage at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lafferty with the Rev. P. Cafferelli officiating. Ted is the son of the late Ted Jr. (“Red”) and Doris McCort. He is retired from his job with the Ohio Department of Transportation. Annita is the daughter of the late Sylvester (“Stratts”) and Maria Melchiori. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Garlinger are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were united in marriage on April 28, 1973, at Brentwood United Methodist Church, Wintersville. Larry is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Garlinger of Smithfield. Susan is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Stephen of Wintersville. They are proud parents of two children, Nicole and Larry Todd Garlinger. They are blessed with nine grandchildren.

Chuck and Donna Pettit of Mt. Pleasant celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 20. They were united in marriage on Jan. 20, 1973, at St. Mary Catholic Church in St. Clairsville by the Rev. George Coyne. Chuck is retired from Consol Energy Shoemaker Mine, and his wife, Donna, is retired from WesBanco. They have two children: Kim (Shane) Florence of Shadyside and Kurt (Heather-Ann) Pettit of Shaker Heights, Ohio. Frank and Debby Nameth celebrated their 50th wedding on Sept. 2. They were united in marriage on Sept. 2, 1972, at St. Casimir’s Church in Adena by Father Edward Kakasick. Frank is the son of the late Frank and Ann Nameth of Ramsey. He is retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. and is currently a substitute teacher for Buckeye Local School District.
