BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT At 11:41 p.m. Wednesday, an officer on a traffic stop on Pike Street in Neffs issued a warning to a West Virginia motorist for speeding. At 4:23 p.m. Wednesday, a sergeant was assisting the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a road rage complaint. The officer was out at an address on Liston Avenue in Bridgeport. Dutton updates Belmont Council on road widening project

BELMONT — Belmont County Commissioner J.P. Dutton recently paid a visit to update village officials on a planned road widening project. Dutton attended Belmont Council’s meeting earlier this month and introduced A.J. Smith from Verdantas Consulting, saying that he and Smith were two of five members of the Transportation Improvement District of Belmont County, a board formed under Ohio Revised Code that is working to get funding for certain projects in the county.
