Franciscan alumni honored for accomplishments

STEUBENVILLE — Four graduates of Franciscan University of Steubenville and its predecessor, the College of Steubenville, were recognized for their accomplishments in a variety of areas during the school’s annual Alumni Awards Banquet Friday. CHARLESTON — Gov. Patrick Morrisey and West Virginia law enforcement officials on Thursday announced additional operations with federal immigration authorities, as well as a separate action that netted a large amount of narcotics. Woman arrested in Wheeling Island stabbing incident

WHEELING — A Wheeling woman was arrested in a stabbing incident Thursday morning on Wheeling Island. Deandra Dawn McCann, 61, was arrested and charged with two counts of malicious wounding, according to the Wheeling Police Department. She was arraigned by Ohio County Magistrate Kevin Stryker, who set bond at $3,000, and was taken to Northern Regional Jail.
