Knight wins Harrison prosecutor seat

CADIZ — Harrison County now has a new county prosecutor -- Lauren Knight was elected into office on Tuesday. Knight, a Republican, defeated Democrat Steve Stickles in Tuesday’s general election. Knight garnered 5,093 votes, more than doubling the votes cast for Stickles, who received 2,248 votes, according to unofficial totals released by the Harrison County Board of Elections. STEUBENVILLE—Voters in Jefferson County decided to give Commissioner Dave Maple another four years on Tuesday night. “Obviously, we’re very happy with the results,” he said. “We’re ready to get moving. Indian Creek School District levy passes by narrow margin

STEUBENVILLE ­ Renewal of the five-year operating levy for Indian Creek Schools passed by a narrow margin on Tuesday. A total of 4,991 voters, or 50.19 percent, supported it, while 4,954 voters, or 49.81 percent, were against it. With a difference of 37 votes between the unofficial totals, Indian Creek school officials will be watching closely the final totals determined after ballots are canvassed. STEUBENVILLE — For the first time in 20 years, Jefferson County will start the year without a Corrigan in the clerk of courts office. Republican newcomer Andrew Plesich easily outpaced his opponent, Democrat Darrin Corrigan, to claim victory. Corpus Christi student tests positive for COVID-19

WHEELING — Ohio County Schools reported no additional positive COVID-19 tests within the school system Tuesday after four staff members tested positive for the virus over the past few days. Meanwhile, a single positive COVID-19 case has been identified at Corpus Christi School in Warwood. The student tested positive on Tuesday.
