WONDER OF Winter Flower Show is set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Flushing Christian Church basement, 201 High St., Flushing. Event is presented by the Flushing Garden Club.

FLUSHING GARDEN Club will be holding its annual Christmas Party at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Flushing Christian Church, 201 High St., in the social room. Cheryl Thompson will be hosting the event. Members are asked to bring a covered dish. Three ladies, Karen Large, Donna Hirauk and Nancy Mayo, volunteered to bring desserts. Devotions will be read by Linda Blankenship. Members will answer Roll Call by naming their Secret Santa. If anyone has forgotten who their Secret Santa person is you should contact Barb Cencula and she will refresh your memory. Marilyn White will provide the table arrangement for the hostess. The program for the evening will be the party and gift exchange.

UNITED METHODIST Women of the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church in Shadyside will be having a “Christmas Flea Market” on Saturday. Gently used Christmas items and household goods will be sold between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The church is located next to Shadyside High School.

RADICAL YOUTH for Christ presents One Night of Worship Youth Service at 5 p.m. Dec. 8 at Bethlehem Apostolic Temple, 330 Main St., Wheeling, with Elder Michael Cooper II of Lima, Ohio.

ADVANCED ART classes at Union Local High School are excited to announce that they have put together a 2020 calendar just in time for Christmas.

The photos are of Union Local School District and surrounding areas where the students reside. This was a labor of love in the making these past eight weeks, and will be ready for sale Dec. 4-13 only, teachers said.

The “From Our Home to Yours” calendar was created to show the picturesque scenes of the district . Inside the calendar are inspirational quotes to help people get through their days and a few extra pictures in the back of the calendar which has aerial views of the campus. For cost information, call Lisa Marple at Union Local high School at 740-782-1181 or 740-782-1182 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays. People may also reach out to an art club member or advanced art student.

This quality product created on heavy card stock is available for a short time. Only 200 calendars being printed.

MARTINS FERRY Community Choir will be presenting its annual Christmas Cantata at 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at the First Baptist Church. The cantata this year is “Noel: Night of Everlasting Love” created and arranged by Derric Johnson and orchestrated by J. Daniel Smith. The choir will be directed by Gwynne Messenger and accompanied by Pauletta Graytok. If you would like to be a part of the choir, rehearsals take place at First Baptist Church of Martins Ferry from 1-2 p.m. every Sunday until the day of the performance. All Ohio Valley singers are welcome to be a part. If you would like more information, call Messenger at 740-298-1906.

TICKETS ARE on sale now for the first Enchanted Winter Breakfast to benefit the Winter Freeze Shelter operated by Youth Services System. The event takes place from 9-11 a.m. Dec. 14 at Generations Pub, 338 National Road. Guests young and old are invited to dress in costume and will have the chance to interact with their favorite ice queen, ice princess and silly snowman while enjoying a pancake-and-sausage breakfast. Additional activities include a photo booth, balloon wands and swords, a snowflake craft, a talking reindeer prize drawing, and face painting. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.com, through the event listing on the YSS Facebook page and at youthservicesystem.org. Ticket proceeds will benefit the YSS Winter Freeze Shelter, which provides a warm place to sleep, a hot meal, clothing, medical care and a connection to resources for people without homes. Partnering with YSS on this first-time event are Generations Pub, Capes & Tiaras, Jingles the Clown and Oh Snap! photo booth.
