Barnesville 4-H Club considering next year’s projects

BARNESVILLE — The Barnesville Progressive home Helpers 4-H club held its ninth meeting of the year on Nov. 13 and reviewed a variety of new and old business.

The meeting was called to order by Kierra Philips and members answered roll call by naming something they are thankful for.

Emma Mazgaj read the secretary’s report, Marah Bethel read the treasurer’s report,

Emma Mazgaj reported that five articles had been published, a health report was read by Zack Mazgaj, energy report was read by Trey Bethel, and Anna Eberhart read the safety report.

Under old business, the members were told to give pictures to Emma for the scrapbook.

Members were also asked to consider projects to take for next year.

The deadline for re-enrollment and enrollment is April 1. Officer books are due to the club advisor by Jan. 15.

Also under old business, the club was told they profited $102.85 for participating in the Reverse Raffle Silent Auction.

Under new business, the steer weigh in was held Nov. 20 at the fairgrounds. The club constitution was voted on and signed at the meeting and each member will need to pay dues of $20.

The mandatory County Shooting Sports meeting was held in November at the Carnes Center.

The members were told their checks from selling animals had to be cashed by Nov. 30.

The club thanked the Wehrs for the November meeting refreshments.

The next meeting is slated for 10 a.m. Dec. 11 in the basement of the Main Street United Methodist Church.
