THE CAPTINA PRODUCE AUCTION is holding its annual Spring Consignment Sale on Saturday, April 18, on West Captina Highway in Barnesville. Consignments will be accepted from April 15-17 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.
LEARN ABOUT NATIVE WILDFLOWERS by joining Captina Conservancy on their annual wildflower walk. The walk will be held at Barnesville Park on Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. until noon. This event is free; bring water and wear appropriate clothing.
STRONG STYLE LUCHA Pro Wrestling is hosting a spring slam event on Saturday, April 18 at the Moran Family Center in Bridgeport. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and belltime is at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $15 for the front row.
LEARN HOW TO SAFELY can delicious homemade strawberry jam in a fun, beginner-friendly class at Graciously Abby’s Art Emporium in St. Clairsville from 3-4:30 p.m. April 19. Canning Zen LLC will lead the class and provide all supplies needed for you to create and take home your own jam. Bring your favorite drinks and snacks to enjoy a fun Sunday afternoon. Tickets to attend are $30 per person.
BOOK LOVERS, BRING your favorite book or journal to the St. Clairsville Public Library on Thursday, April 23, from 6:30-8:40 p.m. for some bedazzling fun. All tools and gems will be provided as well as light refreshments and the chance to win a door prize.
THE PENNYROYAL OPERA HOUSE will host a live Bluegrass Concert on April 24 featuring Nu-Blu with special guest Just Plain Grass. Admission costs $20 per person; children 12 and under get in free. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m.
AN EVENING OF INTRIGUE awaits. Step into a world of mystery, deception, and hidden clues at the Carnes Center on April 25 from 5-8 p.m. for Night In The Museum: A Murder Mystery Experience. Work alongside fellow guests to uncover secrets and solve the crime before time runs out. Must be 21 or older to attend. Your ticket includes: full dinner service, two bar drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages.
JOIN THE FIGHT to prevent suicide at the annual Jerry’s Walk event on April 26 starting at 3 p.m. at St. Clairsville Memorial Park. Free parking is available at the park, and the event is wheelchair accessible. Please wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, as the walk will happen rain or shine. Water stations will be available along the route. Walk-up and Online Registration Check-in begins at the main pavilion at 2 p.m.
SONS OF Italy Uguaglianza Lodge 754 hosts a dance night from 7:30-10:30 p.m. the second Saturday of each month at the lodge, located at 3348 Belmont St., Bellaire.
A FREE clothing giveaway is offered on the second Monday of each month through November at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Clothes Closet, located at 56381 National Road, Bridgeport (Brookside) from 8 a.m. to noon. Clothing ranges from newborn to adult plus sizes. If you have too many clothes in your closet, attic, spare room or basement and they are in good condition, the church is also accepting clothes donations as well. Everyone is welcome. THE BARNESVILLE Pumpkin Festival Committee is selling seeds from its King Pumpkin winners from 2022, 2023 and 2024. Seeds from the 2022 King Pumpkin are available for $50 each through Dec. 31. For the 2023 champion, seeds cost $20 each or $50 for three. Seeds from the 2024 King Pumpkin are $30 apiece or $100 for a set of four. THE OHIO Valley Promenaders hold line dancing lessons at 6 p.m. and square dances and lessons at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the Bellaire Public Library community room. The group is open to all ages. While many of the Promenaders are seasoned pros, they are always accepting new members. Newcomers can jump in quickly, as square dancing is based on walking to eight counts and the caller leads dancers on what to do in a “learn as you go” fashion.
