The children of Roger and Vickie (Dye) Brown of Shadyside happily announce their parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Roger and Vickie were married Sept. 24, 1968, in Charlotte, N.C., with preacher Jerry Parker officiating.

They have been blessed with six children, David (Tori) Brown, Heather (Greg) Hutchings, Jeremiah (Lawri) Brown, Ashley (Dustin) Smith, Whitney Brown (Amy) and Alisha Walker (Jason).

They have 21 grandchildren: Ryan Hutchings, Gregory Rader (girlfriend Maya), Taylor Hutchings, Kayla Rader (fiance Josh), Kourtney (Andrew) DeJesus, Valerie Vittori (boyfriend Domanick), Alexandrea Rader (boyfriend Corey), Brooke Brown, Ethan Brown, Lindsay Whittaker, Olivia Brown, Kody Neal, Jourdan Walker, Brayden Walker, Karlee Smith and Kailyn Smith.

Roger and Vickie also has three great grandchildren, Ashtin Rader, Samantha Franz and Freya DeJesus.

Roger served in the United States Marines and retired from Ormet 2003. Vickie was a homemaker.

They enjoy spending time with their grandchildren, playing euchre, their dogs and cats.

Family and friends will be celebrating on Sept. 22 at the American Legion in Shadyside with a vow renewal.
