Mozena, Taylor

Maddox and Brody Mozena are proud to announce the engagement of their parents, Summer Leemae Taylor and Justin Wayne Mozena. Taylor is the daughter of Tom Taylor of Clarington and Kathy Palmer of Powhatan Point. She is a 2003 graduate of River High School and a 2007 graduate of Belmont Technical College Practical Nursing Program. Mozena is the son of Dallas Mozena of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and Rhonda Jackson of Powhatan Point. He is a 2001 graduate of River High School and is currently employed by Pullman Power. An Oct. 27 wedding is planned.

Balvin, Howard

Karen and Frank Balvin, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kyria Marie Balvin to CPL. Michael Joshua Howard, son of Doug and Ronnie Howard of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The bride-elect is a student at Ohio University Eastern and will be attending Park University in Quantico, Va. Her fiance is a corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He will be stationed in Quantico, Va. in November. A Dec. 22 wedding is planned in Florida.

Wertz, Drewett

Robert and Cheryl Wertz of Washington, Pa., announce the engagement of their daughter, Lori Ann, to Ira D. Drewett Sr., son of Raymond and Patricia Drewett of St. Clairsville. The bride elect is a graduate of Washington High School, Washington, Pa. Her fiance is a graduate of North Eastern Business College with an associates degree in criminology, law enforcement and security. Wedding plans are incomplete.

Hood, Vickers

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hood of Martins Ferry announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Marie to Michael Vickers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rick MacEwan of Triadelphia. The bride-elect is a graduate of Ohio University. She is licensed to teach grades 4-9 in language arts and social studies. She is employed as a sixth grade language arts teacher for Ohio County Schools. Her fiance is a graduate of West Liberty State College with a degree in business administration. He is a PC specialist with the Health Plan of the Upper Ohio Valley. A Dec. 8 wedding is planned.
