ST. JOHN Central presents an Overnight Getaway to New York City on March 7-9. The bus departs Thursday at 11 p.m. in St. Clairsville. Spend the day Friday in NYC from 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Staying overnight in a hotel. Saturday, breakfast buffet at 8 a.m. Visit NYC until noon and then depart to arrive in St. Clairville about 8:30 p.m. There is a cost per person; call Tracie Cole at 740-676-4932 or email tracie.cole@omeresa.net.

SQUARE DANCE is slated 8-11 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Wise Building, Belmont County Fairgrounds, featuring Deep Down Country. There is a cost. From 7-8 p.m. there will be a square dance learning lesson for anyone who would like to learn to dance. Sponsored by the Belmont County 4-H Horse Committee.

MARTINS FERRY Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a fish fry at their council home, 25 N. Fourth St., Martins Ferry, the first and third Friday of each month. Eat in or takeout available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Delivery to city businesses available; call 740-633-0528. Menu includes fish dinners and sandwiches, french fries, onion rings, macaroni and cheese and cole slaw.

NEFFS AMERICAN Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 77 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday to discuss the 100th anniversary of The American Legion. All members are asked to attend.

SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Adena Fire Station. To be placed on the agenda, call 740-546-3079.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE Preschool Interest Forms are available in the elementary School office from Feb. 1-March 1 for those interested in enrolling their child in the preschool program. A lottery drawing will take place following the enrollment period. Applications may be filled out for children 3-5 years of age, with priority given to children eligible for kindergarten the following school year. St. Clairsville School District guidelines for kindergarten eligibility state that children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1 of the enrolling school year.
