BELMONT COUNTY Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society meeting for April has been canceled. No meetings will be held until further notice because of the coronavirus pandemic.

BRIDGEPORT VILLAGE Council is slated to hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in council chambers to discuss the following: extending the visiting clerk’s contract; filling the vacant council seat; hiring a CDL sanitation driver; hiring an interim secretary for the mayor’s office; 2020 appropriations; and personnel regarding police and sanitation departments.

BELMONT COUNTY Water & Sewer District will be flushing fire hydrants throughout its system starting Monday, March 30, and continuing through the end of May. Customers may experience discolored water and or no water/low pressure during times hydrants are being flushed.

Customers will also be notified by BCWSD thru the Belmont County 911 Code Red call around. UNITED MINE Workers of America Local 1304 has canceled the April 4 regular meeting. The tentative date for the next regular meeting, which will include the election of the delegate for the convention, will be at 10 a.m. May 2 at Capraro’s Restaurant, Hopedale.
