Scholarships awarded in Flushing

FLUSHING — The Flushing High School Alumni Association awarded $500 Dale Holmes Memorial Scholarships to four Union Local High School students from the Class of 2021.

These students are direct descendants of a Flushing High School graduate. Flushing High School graduated its last senior class in 1968, when it became part of the Union Local School District.

Dale Holmes launched this scholarship fund during his tenure as president of the alumni association, and the group has awarded well over $25,000 since the inception of this project.

This year’s recipients are:

Samuel Farmer from Flushing. He plans to attend Ohio State University.

Allison Gray from Bethesda. She plans to attend Ohio State University.

Casey Kildow from Bethesda. She plans to attend University of Mount Union.

Travis Sells from Flushing. He plans to attend Belmont College.

The alumni association will hold its 2021 banquet on Aug. 14 at the Flushing Fire Hall.
