US Online Casino Revenue Inches Towards $1 Billion a Month

Online casino revenue in the United States has been steadily climbing for years now, and it seems that a major milestone is now within view. According to recent stats, the revenue for the month of October came in at $874.3 million. This not only increased from September’s revenue by 4.8% but it also means that the total figure is inching towards $1 billion.

This just goes to show how promising the future of iGaming in the United States is. At the same time, it is clear that this growth is not the same across the board.

iGaming in the States

It should come as no surprise that iGaming figures are so impressive. After all, being able to bet online comes with a world of convenience. Instead of having to go to a physical location to get your needs met, you can bet from home or on the go. That’s before we even consider the unlimited supply of games that users can tap into.

With that in mind, it comes as no surprise that real money tables in America and other such options have become so popular. And all the numbers indicate that this growth will continue into the future. But at the same time, some states are pulling bigger numbers than others.

For October, Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania were the biggest winners, bringing in a combined  $773.1 million in revenue, which is $40 million more than in September. Other states with notable iGaming income include West Virginia, Delaware and Rhode Island.

This disparity in income mostly boils down to regulation and how welcome the iGaming space is in the states. Like all forms of gambling, iGaming is not legal in every state, and thus, this impacts how much revenue is generated there. It is also worth noting that the disparity in income will only continue to grow as the iGaming space expands.

As per current stats, the revenue for December could get as high as $900 million and even surpass the $1 billion mark at some point in 2026. And these benefits will reach multiple stakeholders. Of course, the online casinos themselves will see a profit, which will lead to even more tax revenue for the state, which can be used for worthwhile public projects and infrastructure.

The Future of the Sector

With the sort of numbers we’re seeing coming out of the iGaming space, it will be interesting to see how regulators and consumers alike respond. Some places within and outside of the US are already revamping their iGaming laws to encourage the industry and reap the financial benefits. As more profits come in, we could see this trend continue.

Consumers living in states where iGaming isn’t supported could find themselves turning to external iGaming platforms to get their needs met, which creates a new set of challenges. Hopefully, the next few years will have a positive outcome for all stakeholders, regardless of the stance taken by regulators.
