Jefferson County Clerk of Courts releases December report

STEUBENVILLE — Jefferson County Clerk of Courts John Corrigan has released his report for December.

The auto title department collected vehicle fees and taxes of $643,219, with $28,140 going to the county and $615,078 going to the state. Miscellaneous fees were $4,252 and watercraft fees $1. Total fees and taxes were $656,210, with $32,475 going to the county and $623,735 to the state.

For the legal department, new cases filed included miscellaneous, 11; Ohio Department of Taxation, 148; certificate of judgment, 70; civil, 21; domestic, 16; criminal, 24; and court of appeals, zero. Clerk fees paid into the county totaled $10,097.

The Rayland title office processed 539 titles with license plate revenue of $710. Also processed were 16 passports with revenue of $560.

The courthouse title office processed 25 passports with revenue of $875; recorded license plate revenue of $2,067; and saw a total of $31,509 in total auto title fees paid. The total revenue paid into the county was $34,286, with county total titles of 2,150.

The Jefferson County Clerk of Courts Auto Title Rayland Satellite Office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. and is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday, except when a holiday falls on a Friday or a Monday. Call 740-859-0411 for more information.
