ST. CLAIRSVILLE — A new store called Her Closet plans to open its doors June 1.

Her Closet is a clothing boutique located in the heart of St. Clairsville on Main Street next to Papa D’s Pizza.

Its grand opening will be at noon June 1 and will have music, drinks, cupcakes, cotton candy and an array of everyday clothing options.

Owner, Paige Graham, is originally from Washington, D.C., and recently moved to the Ohio Valley to be closer to her family who live in the area.

The 24-year-old entrepreneur noticed there was a lack of clothing boutiques targeting the younger generation, she said.

She targeted the younger demographic but once she spoke to a lot of people in the community, she plans to expand to a larger demographic to include clothing for people of all ages.

“When I moved to St. Clairsville, I live close by so I would always see this place, and I’d be like, ‘I gotta get that,’ and now here I am a month later and now I’m just so excited,” Graham said.

Graham plans to target the local high schools and colleges in the Ohio Valley.

“I want to try and make it a point to not only cater to customers but to do events. I want it to be like how Cinco de Mayo was, a lot of people came out to have a good time,” she said. “I come from a big family, and I just love that kind of energy.”

Graham wants to let everyone know that after the grand opening she will have more articles of clothing coming. She said that she’ll have more items that are more geared specifically for the older demographic.

While speaking on the marketing techniques she is implementing to promote her new store she said, “I had a manager at a store I worked at when I lived in D.C. and he taught me so many great marketing skills.”

She grabbed the attention of the residents of St. Clairsville by covering up all of the windows to her storefront and putting a sign that read: “Keep guessing, grand opening on June 1, you’re invited.”

That gained attention on social media.

It especially led to multiple posts and comment threads on Ohio Valley Facebook groups with residents posting the.ir guesses and sharing the Her Closet’s page.
