BRIDGEPORT — Bridgeport Police Department will be having its fourth annual gun bash Feb. 15 with $50,000 worth of prizes available.

Doors open at 2 p.m. with the first drawing at 3 p.m. and continuing until 8 p.m. Feb. 15 at the James Carnes Center, 45300 Roscoe Road, St. Clairsville. The first drawing will be a $5,000 cash prize with the last drawing a $10,000 cash prize and 29 gun prize drawings in between.

Assistant Police Chief Darby Copeland described the guns as high quality, and all from Bridgeport Equipment.

Tickets will be $50, and people can pick them up at the Bridgeport Police Department, Bridgeport Equipment, Z-Pipe & Supply and Exxon. Tickets will also be available at the door the day of the event.

Copeland thanked the Lansing Sportsman Club, the event’s major sponsor, because without the club’s generosity, the event wouldn’t be possible, he said.

“They always are such a giving group, and they support our community, our schools, our fire departments and our police department,” he said. “And we greatly appreciate that support from them.”

Food, such as chicken, ham and more, water, pop and alcoholic beverages will be provided.

Side raffles and an auction will also take place during the evening. Raffles will be held for items such as ammunition cans, YETI Coolers and a table of guns. The auction will have baskets full of different items, such as food and alcohol. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.

The proceeds will go to police department activities, such as advanced training, equipment needs and anything the department might need that the village cannot afford, according to Copeland.

“We’re hoping for the continued support of our community,” Copeland said. “The last three have been very successful, with a lot of folks coming out to support, and we’re hopeful and optimistic that this continues to go into the fourth year.”
