Oglebay marks anniversary
WHEELING — It has been one year since Oglebay Park Resort unveiled its renovated restaurants at Wilson Lodge, and Oglebay is celebrating that anniversary with special dishes and drinks around the restaurants.
Last year, the lodge introduced Skyline Kitchen and Bar, Trace Chophouse and Sarita’s Coffee and Goods.
These extensive upgrades were made possible, in part, by a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), funded through the American Rescue Plan and private philanthropy.
“This transformation wasn’t just about aesthetics–it was about legacy, revitalization, and building a guest experience that feels as unforgettable as it looks,” said Bob Peckenpaugh, Wheeling Park Commission President & CEO. “Our goal is not just to deliver a great stay, but to create meaningful moments–whether it’s a warm welcome in the lobby, or a memorable meal–that keep our guests coming back year after year.”
To commemorate the one-year anniversary, Oglebay will offer a lineup of themed specials throughout the month of August:
∫ Skyline Kitchen & Bar’s chicken pot pie debuts as a signature comfort dish.
∫ At Sarita’s Coffee & Goods, guests can enjoy peach-infused desserts and beverages–a sweet tribute to Sarita herself, who was affectionately called “Peaches”.
∫ The legendary Wheeling Feeling cocktail is making its much-anticipated comeback at Hickman Lounge. Originally created at Glassworks, Oglebay’s first licensed bar which opened in 1980, this signature drink combined fruit juices with a medley of brandies. The Wheeling Feeling returns as a flavorful nod to one of Oglebay’s most spirited eras.
– Trace Chophouse will feature a $100 for two prix fixe menu, showcasing signature entrées such as steak, chicken, and trout–perfectly paired with indulgent desserts like mango cheesecake and baklava.
