Pumpkin Festival underway

Families wait in line to take photos with the King Pumpkin at the corner of Main and Chestnut streets on Friday evening. The 1,952-pound champion was raised by Bill Neptune of New Concord, Ohio. The Barnesville Pumpkin Festival continues throughout the weekend. Saturday features the 5K Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m.; the Tractor Cruise at 9 a.m.; and the Giant Pumpkin Parade, which steps off at 12:45 p.m. and proceeds west on Main Street from Barnesville High School before turning north on Chestnut Street. The festivities Sunday begin at 9 a.m. with the Antique, Classic & Custom Car Show, along with a variety of vendors, contests, games, rides and entertainment.
